Planning a COVID friendly wedding and keeping guests safe during a global pandemic can be a daunting task. We get it. you’re so excited about your wedding and all of this has truly messed it up. We’re here to provide you some tips to hopefully ease your pain during your planning process.
Two years ago, planning a wedding was a difficult task to overcome. It takes months or even years of planning and multiple people/venues are involved, making sure all friends and families have sent in their RSVP’s, and the list goes on. When you take all of those tasks and then think about planning all of this during a global pandemic, that ups the ante in every way possible. During these crazy times, you want to make sure you are taking all the precautions and planning to be Covid friendly. There are many different ways to plan your wedding to be Covid friendly, some of them are:
1. Looking at Outdoor Venues
Having your guests being seated outside and socially distanced during the ceremony is something very important you want to be thinking about when you are searching for different venues. The ceremony and the reception can both be within the same area so you don’t need to think about multiple venues in different and nearby locations.
2. Inviting Only Close Friends and Family
Creating a guest list that only includes your very close friends and immediate family is a definite thumbs up when it comes to Covid wedding planning. The number of people you invite helps with regulations all over the country, it helps you and your wedding planner with less chaos on your beautiful day, and it becomes a more intimate ceremony.
3. Create a List of Ground Rules
For the list of close friends and family that you have created, make sure there is also a list of ground rules that your guests must follow. These rules are all up to your comfort around this situation, but some rules might be, regular use of hand sanitizer that is provided at the venue, temperature checks before arrival or when they arrive, or making sure you get tested a week before the ceremony takes place.
4. Labeling Silverware and Glasses
For the reception, you could label the silverware and glass for each glass, so there is no confusion between everyones belongings.
5. Live Streaming Your Special Day
If choosing between your close friends seems too stressful on top of everything else you have on your plate, maybe live streaming is the option for your special day. There are many different platforms that work for this option, including, Facebook, Instagram, Zoom, and many others. Create a save the date for when the ceremony livestream is happening, include a time and date, and make sure there is some kind of memo sent out, for example, by email.
I hope these five tips are helpful with your planning of a Covid friendly wedding!
